May-Lan’s General Store
is located by our parking lot and is the center of activity. Not only do you
purchase all sorts of tasty goodies, South Carolina made products, and
seasonal items, this is also where you will pick up tour passes and check-out
after selecting your Christmas tree, pumpkin, and so forth. You can also relax
on the front porch or enjoy some of the antiques displayed inside and out.
Inside you will find a
great selection of the best jellies, jams, ciders, preserves, honey, and
cheese this side of the Saluda River! On weekends, you will
have to get one (or two) of our “ Almost Famous Carmel Apple In A
Bowel”-complete with warm caramel, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and
peanuts. It is a true diet wrecker!! You will also want a cup of cider while
trying our “Taste Table”, where you can sample peach salsa, sweet potato
butter, and other lip smacking goodies.
Ms. Bobbie’s homemade
candy has become a tradition with families over the years. Chocolate suckers
or bagged pieces, it all makes for a great treat for individuals, parties,
business gifts, or groups. All candy is homemade individually as needed to
insure freshness.
Seasonal items are found
here. Surrounding the store in the fall will be pumpkins, gourds, squash, corn
stalks, and other décor. Mums grown at May-Lan will bring beautiful color to
your landscape.
During Christmas,
decorate with lovely full wreaths and garland. Top that off with a beautiful
hand-tied bow, choosing ribbon from our large selection.
