Join Us in Supporting TREES FOR TROOPS |

Since 2005, Christmas tree growers across the U.S. have teamed to donate over 82,000 trees to military families as part of “Trees for Troops” (TFT). With 2010 setting a record of 17,000 donated trees, we hope to beat that in 2011.
This program is conducted by the Christmas Spirit Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) (3) leg of the National Christmas Tree Association. FedEx Express has generously provided transportation for trees from collection points to their destinations. As a proud participant from the beginning, May-Lan Tree Plantation is working to make this year the best ever!
With December 3 and 4 designated as “Trees for Troops” weekend nationally, May-Lan hopes to increase participation by having a weekend of activities offering fun for all. Music, hayrides, marshmallow roast, a face painter, a balloon master (you have GOT to see the things he makes to believe it!), a bake sale and a visit by Santa are just a few of the treats in store.
It is VERY easy to do your part.
At the farm, just go to our TFT Headquarters and fill out the Supporter Sheet provided. Return that form, along with $35.00 to the person manning that post and you are set! We will provide you with a tag you may sign and list a short message. We will attach it to a tree as it is loaded.
You will be providing a family with a 6-7’ fir. We will donate $5.00 of your $35.00 to the Christmas Spirit Foundation.
To say thanks from May-Lan, we will add your name to our “TFT Honor Roll” located in front of our store, as well as on our web site. A certificate of appreciation will be sent later.
Trees may be donated from NOW to December 3. And your donation may be used as a tax deduction.
If the tree is not something you are up for, drop off some ornaments, lights or a stand. We will accept ONLY NEW ITEMS IN THEIR ORIGINAL SEALED BOX. Or drop off a card—these can not be sealed! Cards are a good project for school classes. Give us a call and we will even come pick them up!
So lend a hand to those whose service to us is worth a lot more than the cost of that tree.
If you can not make it to the farm, click on TFT Supporter Sheet, run it off, fill it out, write a check, and mail it as soon as possible. Get your church, school, club, anyone you know involved. This is a great way to answer the question, “What can I do…?”
